PURPOSE: A buffered crossbar switch system is provided to supply high data throughput between multiple data modules in a communication system. CONSTITUTION: Input buffers(202,204,206) of each input node have input arbiters(214,216,218). The input arbiters deciphers data packets form each input buffer according to a first scheduling algorithm. A crossing butter has output arbiters(225,227,229). The output arbiters deciphers data packets from crossing butter queue(228,230,232,234,236,238,240,242,244 ) according to a second scheduling.
