Improving digestion and absorption of fibers and/or cereals in a monogastric herbivorous animal, comprises administering an effective amount of at least one strain of bacteria comprising genus Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Propionibacterium, Bifidobacteriumand Bacillus, to the monogastric herbivorous animal. Independent claims are included for: an animal feed supplement for monogastric herbivore comprising at least one strain of bacterium consisting of bacterial strains of Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Propionibacterium, Bifidobacteriumand Bacillus; and (2) a feed for monogastric herbivorous animal characterized is fortified with the dietary supplement.
