[Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A protective device for use in lifeboats &c. comprises a knee-high bag 1 of waterproof material to receive the feet and legs of a person when seated, or the whole device may be in the form of a trough. The front and back of the trough opening may be formed with apertures to be engaged by hook members 11, Fig. 8, of a spring clip 12, a number of which are carried by strings secured to the rear marginal wall of the trough opening. Fig. 10 shows another construction of spring clip adapted to be sewn to the upper part of a back wall of the device, a pin 18 being adapted to pass through an aperture in the front wall. |
