<p>PURPOSE: A brake disk and a material for the same are provided to prevent thermal crack or damage caused by partial plastic deformation of the martensite structure in the sliding part of the brake disk. CONSTITUTION: A material for a brake disk(1) comprises C 0.15~0.30 weight%, Si 0.3~1.3 weight% or less, Mn 0.3 weight% or over, Cr 0.6~1.0 weight% or less, Mo 0.4 weight% or over, Al 0.15 weight% or less, and Fe and inevitable impurities of the rest amount. The carbon equivalent, expressed as Ceq=C+Si/24+Mn/6+Cr/5+Ni/40+Mo/4, is 0.60~0.86 weight%.</p> |
