A bicycle drive system (22) includes a hub motor (24) on a wheel hub (26) of a bicycle (10), a bicycle throttle control (28), a battery pack (30), and a motor controller (32). Multi-connection plugs (46, 48) are used to connect electric wiring from the controller to each of the motor and the throttle control. The battery pack and a motor controller may be joined to each other. The system may include a carry bag (36) having a compartment (40) adapted to hold the battery pack and a motor controller in an upright position. The carry bag, and hence the battery pack and motor controller, can be removable from the bicycle, in which case the connection plugs allow the battery pack and motor controller to be completely detached from the bicycle. |
