DEPTH OF INTERACTION DETECTOR USING LIGHT SHARING METHOD, MEASURMENT METHOD AND PET SCANNER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring an interaction depth and a positron emitting scanner using the same are provided to obtain continuous information related to the interaction depth. CONSTITUTION: A single crystal layer(10) includes a plurality of crystals absorbing gamma-ray which is adjacently and continuously arranged. A flash detector is installed to one end of the crystals in order to detect flash generated from the crystal layer due to the gamma-ray. A changing unit changes the transmittance of the crystals. The flash detector outputs a first outputting signal and a second outputting signal. A controlling unit(30) calculates the interaction depth of the crystal layer based on the outputting signals.
