PURPOSE: A separation type mobile terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to include a user input portion or a user input window which completely separates from a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A first and second display unit(151a,151b) indicates an image. A user input unit(130a) is able to be completely separated from the first and second display unit. In case a mutual local area communication is processed between the first and second display unit and a user input portion, a controller indicates the letter input window in the first and second display unit. In case the mutual local area communication is finished, the controller closes the display of the letter input window.
