[Class 38 (v)] Described as applied to thermostatic means for maintaining temperature constant in a casing 11 housing a piezo-electric crystal 13, a pair of bimetal strip 22, 24 carrying contacts 23, 25 interrupt the current to a heater 33 continuously, the strip 24 being vibrated as by an A.C. electromagnet 32 with strip armature 31, or by a continuously rotated cam. The time of closure of the contacts is controlled thermally by the movement of the bimetal strips 22, 24 which tend to separate as the temperature rises.</p> |
