PURPOSE: A polymer web stretching method and a polymer film manufacturing method is provided to prevent the fracture of a welded film by reducing the discrepancy of deformation between an overlap part and other parts when stretching the welded film widthwise. CONSTITUTION: An off-line stretching facility(2) comprises a receiving chamber(4), a tenter(6), and a welding unit(11). The receiving chamber accommodates a preceding film roll(14) and a following film roll(15). The tenter grips a grip area of the preceding film unwound from the preceding film roll and broadens the width of the preceding film. After the preceding film is drawn out completely, the following film is transmitted from the following film roll to the tenter. The back end of the preceding film and the leading end of the following film are overlapped so that an overlap part is formed. The welding unit welds a weld area of the film, and the welded film is transmitted to the tenter. |
