PURPOSE: A hot water supply apparatus using a heat pump and a control method thereof are provided to improve the operating efficiency by minimizing the recirculation of water of a hot-water supply tank. CONSTITUTION: A hot water supply apparatus(100) comprises a heat pump(190), a hot water supply tank(110), and diffusers(140,150,160). The heat pump is a heat source for creating hot water. The hot water supply tank accepts hot water heated with the heat by the heat pump. The hot water supply tank provides the accepted hot water to desired places. The diffusers, applied to one of a pipe supplying water to the hot water supply tank and a pipe supplying hot water to the desired places, spray or suck water into/from the hot water supply tank in order to stratify the water in the hot water supply tank according to temperature. |
