Invention herewith described refers to the procedure for making three-dimensional insulating and decorative segments in the form of imitation of natural materials that includes hand-made segments of expanded polystyrene or styrodur processed with a knife and hot pieces of metal followed by a painting, first with compressor then with brush with which is also performed the final shading. In this way a unique, three-dimensional segments are obtained whose one side is in relief and represents a faithful imitation of natural materials such as various types of stones and rocks or the tree bark, while the back is completely flat so that the segments may be placed on different surfaces and most often on the walls of rooms or aquarium and terrarium with the possibility of their free combining..
