Disclosed is the crystalline form II of N-benzoyl-staurosporine having an x-ray diffraction pattern expressed in 2 theta angles that includes five or more peaks selected from the group consisting of about 3.4, 6.0, 7.8, 8.7, 9.2, 9.7, 10.1, 10.4, 11.2, 12.6, 14.1, 15.7, 16.8, 18.2, 18.9, 19.3, 19.6, 20.2 and 24.5 +/- 0.2 degrees. Also disclosed is a process for preparing the crystalline form of N-benzoyl-staurosporine and compositions containing said N-benzoyl-staurosporine.
