METHOD FOR IMPROVING QUALITY OF FINGERPRINT IMAGE

The invention relates to the field of digital image processing, and can be used in automated fingerprint systems for improving accuracy of singling out typical image signs and for improving the quality of the stored images. A method is proposed of improving the quality of a fingerprint image, characterized in determining inter-ridge distance, typical for said image, conversion, if necessary, a raster for changing an image definition and further filtration of the fingerprint image. Such method of improvement of fingerprint image quality provides for processing fingerprints in fingerprint systems from available card files and newly inputting fingerprints without any limits in the inter-ridge distance without cost-based hardware and organizational expenses.
