The interface (IT) has a socket (IC) connected to input and output ports of a multi-component electronic unit (UsT) to be tested. A multi-point connector (CMP1) has points connected to the socket, and is connected to a complementary multi-point connector (CMP2) of an automatic test conducting system (SCT). An identification unit (ID) is automatically read by a control unit (UC) to assure automatic identification of the interface. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an automatic test conducting system connected to a removable test interface for testing a multi-component electronic unit (2) a method for testing different types of electronic units.
