Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of a compound of the formula III or a salt thereof, compounds useful as renin inhibitors, said manufacture comprising reacting a compound of formula I with a glycine compound of formula II in order to give the imine functionality, and wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification.
