The invention relates to the area of protection from falsification and authentication of important documents. According to the invention, disclosed are a method of producing an optical protective element, a method of verification of authenticity of a document with the protective optical element, the protective element and the important document, containing said protective element. The method of producing the optical protective element contains stages, at which: a) a transparent medium, which is a thin-film polarizer, is provided, having two work sides, each of which is used to form the independent latent images; b) the latent image is imprinted on at least one part on the first work side of the medium by a method of direct printing, using colourless liquid composition, and the image is hardened; c) structuring at least one part in the preset direction to the preset depth is carried out on the first work side of the medium, carrying the latent image, to provide optical anisotropy in said part, as a result, a latent polarized image is obtained, which remains invisible when observing with the naked eye, and is observed as a clear contrast in the polarized light; d) a thin transparent protective layer is applied over the whole surface of the first work side of the protective polarized element; e) the latent image is imprinted on at least one part on the reverse side of the medium, that is the second work side, by the method of the direct printing, using colourless liquid composition, and the image is hardened; f) structuring at least one part in the preset direction to the preset depth is carried out on the second work side of the medium, carrying the latent image, to provide optical anisotropy in said part, as a result, the latent polarized image is obtained, which remains invisible when observing with the naked eye, and is observed as the clear contrast in the polarized light; g) the thin transparent protective layer is applied over the whole surface of the second work side of the protective polarized element. The verification of the authenticity of the documents is carried out by separate and independent visualization of the two polarized latent images using two reflecting elements built in the structure of the important document. |
