摘要 An arrangement in a mechanical shaft seal is disclosed. Parts subjected to stress in the seal are made from material that exhibits super elasticity to increase their work life. Included in the seal is at least one first sliding surface part (2) rotating with a shaft (14) in relation to a frame (13) of a device, at least one second sliding surface part (4) fastened to the frame (13) and/or to a separate frame part (3) that is non-rotatable in relation to the frame (13). The first sliding surface part (2) and second sliding surface part (4) are provided with sliding surfaces (15) pressed against one another. A first additional part (7) such as a draw pin is arranged to connect the first sliding surface part (2) to at least one of the shaft (14) and a first insertion ring (1) fastened to the shaft (14) and is configured to rotate with it in order to transfer the rotating motion from the shaft (14) to the first sliding surface part. A second additional part (8) is arranged to connect the second sliding surface part (4) to the frame (13) or at least to one second insertion part (6) connected to the frame (13) in order to prevent the rotation of the second sliding surface part (4) in relation to the frame (13). The first additional part (7) is arranged to transfer the rotation torque of at least one of the shaft (14) and the second additional part (8) receiving torque. The first (7) and second (8) additional parts are both made from a super elastic memory metal element arranged to bend within the limits of the reversible deformation of the material.
