Disclosed are avermectin derivatives of formula (I) in which the grouping -C22R1-A-C23R2- represents -HC=CH-, -H2C-CH(OH)- or -H2C-CH2- and the remaining substituents are as defined in the specification, a process for preparing avermectin derivatives of formula (I) and their use in controlling animal pests.
