The arrangement has an oscillation damper (1) with two ends mechanically connected to a wheel (R) and a body shell (C) of a motor vehicle, respectively. A spring device provides two values of thrust from a range of predetermined rated thrusts corresponding to different sprung masses of the vehicle. The device has a single helical spring (2) mounted between a lower retainer (3) of the damper and an upper retainer (4) of the shell in a pre-tensioned manner. The upper retainer has two different predetermined axial heights for obtaining the thrusts in the predetermined rated thrust range.
