A packaging unit (10) comprising a container (11) and a plurality of pieces of a film-like material (31-35) is disclosed. The film-like material is hygroscopic or softens under the influence of moisture. The packaging unit (10 has the pieces of film arranged in the container (11) in the form of a stack (20). Interposed between any adjacent two pieces of film there is a separating material (41-45) that is physically stable and chemically inert to the film. The separating material (41-45) has two coating, one on one side and one on the other, that does not adhere to at least one of the two pieces of adjacent film or it adheres to one piece less strongly than it does to the other. This construction allows for reliable individual withdrawal of the hygroscopic film-like material.
