摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic measurement method and an apparatus therefor, for carrying out such a high S/N ratio measurement that noise caused by bottom echo is reduced in order to lessen a variation depending on a flaw detection direction, for a short time without mechanically scanning omnidirectionally, in an omnidirectional flaw detection through 360°by using a matrix array sensor. <P>SOLUTION: An element selecting circuit 103C sets a plurality of ultrasonic-vibration element groups 101T to be used for transmission, so as to be axisymmetric with respect to a first line symmetry axis Als1, and sets a plurality of ultrasonic-vibration element groups 101R to be used for reception, so as to be axisymmetric with respect to a second line symmetry axis Als2 perpendicular to the first line symmetry axis, among a plurality of ultrasonic-vibration elements making up a two-dimensional array sensor. A transmitting element selecting section 102C selects the ultrasonic-vibration element set by the element selecting circuit 103C, as a transmitting element.
