<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new skin-lightening agent suppressing the synthesis of melanin by tyrosinase. <P>SOLUTION: The bleaching agent containing a potato extract is obtained by discovering that the potato extract inhibits tyrosinase activity.
