摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high quality polymer material to identify materials having a largely high dielectric constant and a relatively high dielectric breakdown strength, and to be used for a polymer-based electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: In one aspect, the present invention is a method for increasing the dielectric breakdown strength of the polymer. The method comprises a step of providing the polymer, and a step of contacting the surface of the polymer with gas plasma in the reaction chamber under the predetermined plasma condition. The polymer is selected from the group consisting of polymers having a glass transition temperature of at least about 150°C, and polymer composite materials comprising at least one organic component. The contact with the gas plasma is conducted for a sufficient time to incorporate additional chemical functionality to the surface region of the polymer film to provide the treated polymer.
