PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit information stored in a memory device of a liquid supply unit from being rewritten erroneously. SOLUTION: The liquid supply unit mounted attachably/detachably on a liquid consumption apparatus includes: a container for storing a liquid; the memory device having a first memory region for storing first liquid information for specifying the remaining amount of the liquid stored in the container; a sensor for detecting whether the remaining amount of the liquid stored in the container is at a specified value or less; and a memory controlling part for performing to write inhibit control for inhibiting writing to the first memory region in the memory device in accordance with a request of inhibition from the liquid consumption apparatus.
