摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly efficiently supply a carrier (hole and electron) to a light-emitting section of a light-emitting element employing a three-dimensional photonic crystal. SOLUTION: In the light-emitting element employing the three-dimensional photonic crystal, the three-dimensional photonic crystal includes a resonator formed by a crystal defect, a p-clad composed of a p-type semiconductor, and an n-clad composed of an n-type semiconductor, wherein the resonator includes an active section, the active section includes the light-emitting section composed of a first semiconductor, a first barrier section composed of a second semiconductor having a larger band gap than that of the first semiconductor, and a second barrier section composed of a third semiconductor having a larger band gap than that of the first semiconductor, the first barrier section is in contact with the p-clad, the second barrier section is in contact with the n-clad, and the light-emitting section is arranged between the first barrier section and the second barrier section spaced from the p-clad and the n-clad.
