PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a large see-through area without enlarging an eyepiece optical system 15 when a mark (virtual image V) is displayed to be aligned with a pupil, to reduce the size and weight of a device, and to allow a third person to easily align the pupil with the mark by visual recognition from the outside. SOLUTION: An optical path of light emitted from a light source 22 for mark and reflected on an HOE 18 is on the outside of the optical path of video light from a display element 14 to an optical pupil P. The degree of freedom in design of a mark display optical system 21 is increased, and there is no need to enlarge the eyepiece optical system 15 so as to secure the large see-through area even when the mark display optical system 21 is used. Also, the HOE 18 displays the virtual image V as the mark on the side of the optical pupil P to the HOE 18 by its own optical power by reflecting the light from the light source 22 for the mark on the side opposite to the optical pupil P.
