PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device for achieving miniaturization by making applicable a pinion smaller than the usual size in a differential device having differential lock function. SOLUTION: The differential device 1 includes a differential case 3; a differential mechanism comprising pinions and a pair of side gears; a clutch member 13 making the differential operation of the differential mechanism intermittent; and an actuator for operating the clutch member 13. Four pinions are arranged at equal spaces in the rotating direction of the differential case 3. The differential case 3 includes support sliding parts 17 provided on the back face side of the pinions, and a plurality of engaging parts 19 engaged in an integrally rotatable manner with the clutch member 13. The engaging parts 19 are provided between the rotating directions of the differential case 3 of the support sliding parts 17 within the axial projection plane of the differential case 3.
