PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain enhancement of opening/closing operability of a hood, to retain the hood at an optional opened position, and to enhance workability in an engine room. SOLUTION: The opening/closing mechanism for the opening/closing body includes: a hinge bracket 11 fixed to a vehicle body side; a hinge arm 12 fixed to the hood 3 for covering the engine room 21; and a hinge pin 13 for attaching the hinge arm to the hinge bracket. The opening/closing mechanism further includes a rotation body 14 attached to the hinge pin so as to be interlocked with rocking motion of the hinge arm; a ratchet gear part 14a formed on a peripheral edge of the rotation body; a ratchet claw 15 turnably installed relative to the hinge bracket, engaged with the ratchet gear part when it is rotated in one direction and removed from the ratchet gear part when it is rotated in the opposite direction of the one direction; and an operation lever connected to the ratchet claw and turning/operating the ratchet claw.
