<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which the effects of heat on semiconductor devices of a liquid crystal display panel can be reduced and the luminance of a backlight can be made uniform. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight. The backlight has a light guide plate; a first light source group comprising a plurality of light sources aligned along the first side of the light guide plate; and a second light source group comprising a plurality of light sources aligned along a second side which is the side facing the first side. The first light source group has a first region, where a distance between adjacent light sources is a first distance and a second region where the distance is a second distance that is shorter than the first distance; the second light source group has a third region facing the first region and a fourth region facing the second region; the third distance between the adjacent light sources in the third region is shorter than the fourth distance between the adjacent light sources in the fourth region; and semiconductor devices are positioned facing the first region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
