PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability by reducing a setting time and an effort of a user.

SOLUTION: A disc recorder 100 transmits a transmission video signal from an HDMI transmission part 102 to a projector 200 through an HDMI cable 300 by communication conforming to the HDMI. The projector 200 executes processing such as image quality adjustment to a reception video signal to execute image display by the reception image signal. Bidirectional communication conforming to the Internet protocol (IP) is executed via a communication path comprising a pair of differential transmission paths of the HDMI cable 300 between an Ethernet transmission/reception circuit 104 of the disc recorder 100 and an Ethernet transmission/reception circuit 204 of the projector 200. Image quality adjustment information corresponding to the transmission video signal is transmitted from the disc recorder 100 to the projector 200. In the projector 200, the setting of an image quality adjustment value is automatically executed based on the received image quality adjustment information.
