INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC ARTICLE SURVEILLANCE (EAS) AND POINT OF SALE (POS) SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for integrating point of sale (POS) data with electronic article surveillance (EAS) data.

SOLUTION: The method for integrating point of sale (POS) data with electronic article surveillance (EAS) data includes steps of: providing a general-purpose computer which operates to receive and process the data; receiving input POS data by the general-purpose computer; receiving an alarm corresponding an actuated EAS tag by an EAS device; acquiring alarm event information input to an alarm event recording unit by the EAS device; generating EAS data by the EAS device based on the alarm event and the input alarm event information; receiving EAS data by the general-purpose computer; and storing the EAS data and the POS data to a sale database of the general-purpose computer.
