PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overcap capable of covering a container body by an easy fitting operation where the overcap can sufficiently fix the cap with the container once it is covered, and the cap is not readily detached even upon a shock, falling, etc. during conveyance. SOLUTION: The overcap covers a cup having a flange at an opening. The overcap has a flat top surface and an annular lateral surface at the outer periphery of the top surface. The lateral surface has a plurality of engagement projections engaged with the cup flange.
