PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a display surface or an operation surface, with respect to an ultrasonic diagnostic device which can be carried by hand. SOLUTION: An expansion unit 17 is constituted of: a lower panel 18; an upper panel 20; and an auxiliary member 22. The upper panel 20 is attached to the lower panel 18 via a second hinge 42. The auxiliary member 22 is attached to the upper panel 20 via a third hinge 46. The auxiliary member 22 functions as a stand or eaves. The expansion unit 17 is turned to an expanded state in use and an overlapping state in nonuse by being folded like a winding path. A storage part 36 is formed on the back side of a main frame 16.
