PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film outer package type nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using silicon and silicon oxide as a negative electrode active material, which can restrain generation of a gas caused by side reaction and has high capacity and high discharge capacity maintenance rate. SOLUTION: In the film outer package type nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery wherein a positive electrode 6 and a negative electrode 3 are stored in an outer package film 8 by lamination or winding via a separator 7, a composite of Si and SiO<SB>2</SB>which dopes atoms serving as an acceptor is used as a negative electrode active material.
