COLUMN FOR ION CHROMATOGRAPH, SUPPRESSOR, AND ION CHROMATOGRAPH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation column allowing the passage of a liquid therethrough at a low pressure while holding ion resolution for use in an ion chromatograph. SOLUTION: This separation column for an ion chromatograph is filled with an organic porous ion exchanger. The ion exchanger is of a continuous macro-pore structure wherein bubble-like macro-pores overlap with each other and such overlapping portions form openings of 0.01 to 300 μm in average diameter in a water-wet state. The total pore volume is 0.5 to 5 mL/g while ion-exchange capacity per volume in the water-wet state is 0.01 to 5 mg equivalence/mL. Ion-exchange groups are uniformly distributed in the ion exchanger. In a SEM image of a section of the macro-pore structure (dry body), the area of a skeleton appearing on the section is 25 to 50% of an image domain. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
