PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive image acquisition device without using a lens system since an image acquisition device is largely scaled and made expensive because of the arrangement of a lens system between a sample and a sensor. SOLUTION: This image acquisition device 1 includes: a stage 12 on which a sample 11 is placed; an imaging element 18 arranged in the neighborhood of a position faced to the sample for picking up the image of the sample by receiving the rays of light from the sample without using a lens; a moving means 14 for moving at least one of the stage and the imaging element; and an image generation means for generating the image of the sample from the image signal of the imaging element.
