PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect pest attractant containing a substance derived from a genuine Myxomycetes belonging to the genus Physarum as an active ingredient, and an insect pest-capturing tool having the same. SOLUTION: This insect pest attractant can exhibit a potent insect pest-attracting effect by using the substance originated from the genuine Myxomycetes belonging to the genus Physarum, and also can widely attract a plurality of kinds of insect pests even by using it as a single agent. In the case that the genuine Myxomycetes belonging to the genus Physarum is Physarum polycephalum, it is possible to exhibit a further potent insect pest-attracting effect, and also further widely attract the plurality of kinds of insect pests. Also, the handling of the same such as transportation becomes easier since its life cycle is in a plasmodium or sclerotium state. Further, by blending an insecticidal component to the active ingredient, the attracted insect pest can be controlled by the insecticidal component, and the efficient attraction/control of the insect pest becomes possible.
