The process comprises crushing the marine plants after draining using a crushing device to plant pulp in the presence of plant sap resulting during crushing to dilute the salt water adhering on a surface of the salt water plants, where the crushing step is carried out after the removal of the salt water plants from saline environment, dewatering the plant pulp to remove the plant sap and salt water-containing liquid (i) using a filter press apparatus for the formation of plant press materials, drying the plant press material after dewatering for the formation of plant cakes. The process comprises crushing the marine plants after draining using a crushing device to plant pulp in the presence of plant sap resulting during crushing to dilute the salt water adhering on a surface of the salt water plants, where the crushing step is carried out after the removal of the salt water plants from saline environment, dewatering the plant pulp to remove the plant sap and salt water-containing liquid (i) using a filter press apparatus for the formation of plant press materials, drying the plant press material after dewatering for the formation of plant cakes using the filter press apparatus, crushing the plant cakes resulting after drying using a milling device for the formation of plant cake crumbs, and forming the plant cake crumbs to salt water plant-shaped pieces. In the process, a device is used as crushing device, where the device comprises a housing, a shaft stub protruding into the housing, an opposing entrance opening and a discharge opening running right-angle to the rotating axis of the shaft stub, a rotor fixed to the shaft stub and reaching up to the entrance opening, and a stator arranged in the housing with a cylindrical stator wall made of individual toothed racks, which stand next to each other, have a predetermined gap distance from each other in a predetermined area and are kept at the respective cylinder front side of the stator using two fixing rings that are equipped with wings at their circular outer periphery. The thickness of the wings determines the distance of the toothed racks and the gap width in the peripheral direction. The rotor is formed in a toothed manner and combs with the toothing of the toothed racks. The salt water plants are pressed through the gap between the toothed racks as conveying product and are conveyed to the discharge opening over a discharge gap provided between a housing inner wall and the stator outer periphery. A chamber filter press (d) is used as filter press apparatus and/or a membrane filter press (k) with a drying device (e) is used as filter press apparatus. The shaped pieces are formed as pellets, granules and/or flakes.
