The device (1) has a treatment system (2) comprising a treatment chamber (3) and a goods carrier unit (4) that is held in the treatment chamber for accommodating a workpiece and/or a machine component (5). A nozzle unit (6) loads the workpiece and/or the machine component in the treatment chamber with treatment medium, where the medium is formed of high pressure air or gas mixture. The pressure of the treatment medium is in the range of 30-550 bar. A high pressure air system (7) is connected with the nozzle unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for surface treating such as burring and/or cleaning of workpieces, mechanical components and/or such articles.
