<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more properly operate an internal combustion engine so as to improve energy efficiency by use of exhaust gas recirculation. <P>SOLUTION: A start determination power Pref used for determining the start of an engine is set to be a first value PH when execution of the exhaust gas recirculation through an EGR valve is not permitted and when operation of an air-conditioning unit is not instructed (step S170), and is set to be a second value PL smaller than the first value PH when the execution of the exhaust gas recirculation is permitted (step S150). Thereby, when the exhaust gas recirculation is permitted during stop of the engine 22, start of the engine 22 is facilitated as compared with when the exhaust gas recirculation is not permitted, and the engine 22 is frequently operated with the exhaust gas recirculation to improve the overall energy efficiency of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
