<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pigment dispersion for a color filter capable of obtaining a cured film excellent in contrast and of low viscosity, and a colored composition for the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the pigment dispersion for the color filter includes: a step (1) of ultra-filtering a preliminary dispersion (1) containing a pigment (A), a polymer (B) for dispersing the pigment and an organic solvent (C) to produce a preliminary dispersion (2); and a step (2) of high pressure-dispersing the preliminary dispersion (2) obtained in the step (1).
