PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical subassembly with good working efficiency, which has a great adhesive strength and enables adhesive fixation without paying attention to an optical path, in fixedly bonding a sleeve member to an optical module. SOLUTION: The optical subassembly 1 is provided with: an optical module 2 in which an electronic element such as an LD 7 mounted on a stem 4 is sealed with a cap 5 having an optical window; and a sleeve member 3 which optically communicates with a guide part 31a for guiding and positioning the insertion of an optical connector ferrule and which is provided with a recess 33 where the cap 3 of the optical module 2 is inserted. A space between the guide part 31 and the recess 33 of the sleeve member 3 is blocked in a light transmitting manner, and a space between the recess 33 and the cap 5 of the optical module 2 is filled with a light transmitting adhesive 6, so that the sleeve member 3 is fixedly bonded to the optical module 2.
