PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus and inspection method of an optical signal transmitter, for centering light from a light emitting part in a simple structure in a short time. SOLUTION: The apparatus for inspecting the light quantity of light emitted from the light emitting part 20, includes: an optical fiber 7 receiving the light emitted from the light emitting part 20 on a light receiving end face 9; a ferrule 2 which holds the optical fiber 7; a rotary driving part 3 which rotary-drives the ferrule 2; and a controller 5 that receives the light made incident on the optical fiber 7 and drives and controls the rotary driving part 3. The light receiving end face 9 of the optical fiber 7 is provided at a biased position which is biased from the rotary center axis 17 of the ferrule 2 by a predetermined distance.
