PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt for shoe press, which hardly changes the size under use, maintains the stable rotation state, and is capable of reducing the formation of cracks in a covering layer. SOLUTION: The felt (A) for papermaking is the belt for shoe press. The belt for the shoe press has a base fabric layer (1) constituted of first layer warp yarns (111), second layer warp yarns (112), third layer warp yarns (113) and fourth layer warp yarns (114), and weft yarns (12), and a covering layer (2) formed on the surface thereof. The third layer warp yarns (113) are multifilaments, and part of the weft yarns (12) are additional weft yarns (121) forming interwoven parts with intervals of three or more warp yarns by being interwoven with the third layer warp yarns (113). The covering layer (2) has a felt-side covering layer (21) formed on the felt-side surface of the base fabric, and a shoe-side covering layer (22) formed on the shoe-side surface of the base fabric.
