<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector including a fuel pressure sensor, in which sealability of the fuel pressure sensor can be sufficiently improved. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel injector includes a metal body 4 including a high pressure passage formed inside the body for distributing high pressure fuel to an injection hole, and the fuel pressure sensor attached to the body 4 to detect pressure of the high pressure fuel. The fuel pressure sensor includes a metal stem 51 (a strain element) resiliently deformed upon receiving pressure of the high pressure fuel, and a strain gauge 52 (a sensor element) that converts the magnitude of strain generated in the stem 51 into an electrical signal and outputs the signal as a pressure detection value. The body 4 includes a body side sealing surface 45b on which the stem 51 is pressed and closely-attached so that a clearance between the body and the stem 51 is metal-to-metal sealed. Carburizing treatment is performed for the body 4, but the part of the body side sealing surface 45b out of the body 4 is not hardened by carburization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
