<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor to which a catalyst can be easily installed. <P>SOLUTION: This outboard motor includes an engine, an exhaust guide 6, an exhaust passage 47 and the catalyst 46. The engine includes cylinders #1-#4. The engine is supported from below by the exhaust guide 6. The exhaust passage 47 is provided on the side of the cylinders #3-#4 in the engine. The catalyst 46 is arranged in the exhaust passage 47. The engine includes a cylinder body 3 having a housing portion 51. The catalyst 46 is housed inside the housing portion 51.
