<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, a data processing method, and a program for coping with energy saving while enhancing security. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus 110 includes a CPU 134 which controls image processing in response to external communications and manages the function of the image processing apparatus 110, and an I/O control section 142 which executes processing of the CPU 134 by proxy in response to data contents received through a network 150.
