<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of improving display resolution, while preventing the degradation of image quality due to the fact that the positional deviation amount of a pixel is different by color. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes: a light source 7 emitting light including a plurality of color light beams different in color; a plurality of liquid crystal light valves 3R, 3G and 3B where a plurality of pixels are arranged like a matrix and which modulate the light from the light source in each different color light beam; a cross dichroic prism 4 synthesizing the color light beams modulated by the respective liquid crystal light valves; a projection lens 5 projecting the light synthesized by the cross dichroic prism onto a projection surface; and a vibration mechanism 30 vibrating the projection lens 5. The vibration mechanism 30 vibrates the projection lens 5, to temporally deviate the positions of the pixel images of a plurality of optical modulation elements formed on a screen 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
