<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that can prevent stray light from entering an optical path to a surface to be scanned by another beam without deteriorating scanning accuracy when the stray light occurs by specular reflection light from the surface to be scanned and therefore can effectively prevent the occurrence of an image defect such as a line along the main-scanning direction due to the stray light; and to provide a color image forming apparatus having the optical scanner. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical scanner 1 and the color image forming apparatus D, a plurality of laser beams Lm, Lc, Ly, and Lk are respectively made to be incident from different positions varied in the rotation axial line direction Z of a polygon mirror 74 toward an identical position to a reflection plane 74f of the turning single polygon mirror 74, and the respective reflection beams Lm, Lc, Ly and Lk from the reflection plane 74f of the polygon mirror 74 are made to scan a surface 3f to be scanned.
