PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cleaning a droplet discharge head by which bubbles or the like retained in a nozzle are surely removed to improve the accuracy of droplet discharge. SOLUTION: The method includes: a capping step of bringing a cap member into contact with a nozzle face, while covering a plurality of nozzles; a sucking step of sucking, by a suction pump communicating with an internal space formed between the nozzle face and the cap member, the inside of the internal space with a negative pressure; and a resetting step of resetting the negative pressure inside the nozzle to the atmospheric pressure.
